We were the first nuclear warship to ever tie up at pier in Japan. Security for us was heavy. I know I have many photos taken from the air when we were pulling into port of all the aircraft around us. I have not located them yet and I feel they are negatives. There were something like 76 helicopters in the air. Or at least something close to that as well as countless boats with banners and what have you. The Japanese were not very warm to us to say the least...
